It is the resin from the bark of Commiphora myrrha Engl.or other species in the same genus,family Burseraceae.The resin oozing out of crevices in the tree is white,and then turns reddish brown and hard when exposed to the air.After being collected ,it is broken apart and stir-baked to burnt black,and the it is ready to use as a medicine.

Medicinal Properties:Bitter and neutral.

Meridian Tropism:Heart,liver and spleen meridians.

Medicinal Efficacies:Promote circulation of blood to alleviate pain;subside swelling and promote tissue regeneration.

Usage and Dosage: 3~10g.Appropriate amount for external application.
