It is the dried perennial calyx of Diospyrous kaki Thunb,family Ebenaceae.The perennial calyxes are collected in autumn and winter when they are ripe or when they are eaten,washen clean and dried in the sunshine.The raw are used.

Medicinal Properties:Bitter,astringent and neutral.

Meridian Tropism:stomach meridian.

Medicinal Efficacies:check adverse rise of qi and direct qi downward.

Usage and Dosage: 4.5~9g.
